Location was convenient for travel into central London and hotel has free on-site, secure car parking. Price was reasonable - we were looking for a budget hotel while in London for the marathon.
The hotel needed some modernising (although it appeared some work was being done). The bathroom was particularly scruffy and in desperate need of a new shower curtain!

Very friendly and polite staff. good room. great value for money inner london hotel. great for a few days in capital. pay per room not per person + breakfast - all round good value - even picture of hrh in lobby - great!! (May I add that the people who rate this hotel as low with bad comments, should stay at a 5 star inner city london hotel and pay 5 times the price with no customer service smile and no breakfast included - its just not fair on this hotel) - from personal experience you will be lucky to find a hotel in london (near a tube station) at this price. will visit again. thank you cranbrook hotel.
Not perfect, but pay top dollar if you want perfect in london!!!

Positive: price, and a copious breakfast and good, not far from a station Ilford. The clearners are helpful.
Room was austere and "bed with bugs on it and bugs squashed in the ceiling", bathroom without shelf and in very poor condition, no phone.the 20 July 2011 in the morning that man was very unpleasant.Never again!!

The whole experience was VERY VERY GOOD from start to finish, recommend. It was a well-maintained hotel in a good area, near to the shopping centre, restaurants and shops, and the outskirts of Ilford. Greatly enjoyed the way our extremely spacious guest room with a telly was arranged.

I liked my stay from checking in to checking out and the breakfast was superb.
It is a bit dated but for the price it is probably to busy for upgrading.

Clean, quiet and comfortable - amazing value for money. Breakfast was really good too, full English.
Everything was really good - top quality budget hotel, could charge more.

daily cleaning, kettle in room, nearby metro station
Addressing the outdated decor in hallways would be a nice touch!!! Implementing a noise policy after hours could enhance the stay as well!!! It's unfortunate that the chemical smell permeates the building!!!

Staff was polite and responsive. Were readily available and responded immediately to any requests. Location is good. There is a small market close by to buy things like Water, Snacks, and plenty of restaurants too. There is also a Laundromat 5-10 mins (walk) away, and Iflord train station is another 5-10 minute walk with a Shopping Mall (The Exchange) opposite it. Clean bathroom with warm water. Breakfast was okay. Fresh and warm every morning but at a ridiculously early part of the morning (6:30 am - 8:30 am) - considering we were on holiday!
The hallway was really dirty. Nothing smelled bad but the carpet was very dirty. The carpet in the room was so dirty that even after I vacuumed it (MYSELF), my 4 year old son's feet would literally get "black" after half an hours play on the floor. We had to wash his feet every half hour, or force him to keep his socks on, or play on the beds. I don't want to think about how dirty his clothes used to get. The TV had one channel for children and that only worked at some parts of the day. During the evening (6 pm onwards) it used to play a message that channel will resume in the morning. Given the condition of the room the price charged was way to high. It looked like it was designed for truck drivers who come in to spend the night and move on the next day. Not designed for families. No mini fridge in the room and the table and drawers were all broken and falling apart. Its a shame because the location was suitable for us as our friends were close by. We visit London at least twice a year and it was our first and last time at Cranbrook Hotel. I would say the room was worth 40 pounds a night and we paid 100 pounds per night for 5 nights. Such a waste of money.

Staff are very friendly and polite, the price is very good for the location with an en-suie room.
Breakfast was mass produced and very poor quality products. Cerial and toast was favourate.

Very supportive staff. Spacious room. Reliable water supply. Excellent meal choice. Reliable and fast service to Liverpool Street railway station in Central London. Calm and quiet hotel location near picturesque Valentine's park. It's really extremely cost effective offer.
The only tiny thing - not too good shopping in 10 minutes walking around.

The condition of the room(s), must be re-decorated and cleaned of fungus.
